Parents,The Cooper City Fun Run kicked off on Tuesday, November 17th with an exciting Pep Rally, and we are thrilled about this year’s program! The Cooper City Fun Run will be about a week and a half and is powered by the Fun Run experts at Boosterthon. Our Fun Run includes all students in a fun, team building, fitness event while helping our school raise much-needed funds. Our goal is to raise $9,000 for covering for the green top and we need YOUR help!
Here’s how you can support Cooper City Elementary:
Register your student. To log in pledges, please register your child on FUN RUN.COM, using our school’s registration code: 484135. Students receive a FREE GIFT just by having their parent or guardian register them on FUN RUN.COM
Reach out to sponsors. Connect with 10 sponsors. You can use social media in the pledging process and even create custom videos—all of this is on FUN RUN.COM Be sure to capture and record each sponsor’s e-mail address. They will also have an easy opportunity to pay for your student’s pledge by credit card online.
Ask your child about the BIG WORLD RECESS Character Play of the day! This year’s character theme is BIG WORLD RECESS, a global fitness theme all about playing with more character. Watch the fun videos with your child on FUN RUN.COM
Fun Run is on December 3! All students are invited to participate, regardless of financial participation. Remember, students will be running 30-35 laps.
Thank you for supporting our school!
Hour of Code
Last year, 60 million students, including our Cooper City Cubs, tried an Hour of Code in one week. This year our students will again join students from all over the world for an Hour of Code during Computer Science Education Week, December 7 - 13.
The Hour of Code’s goal is for every 21st-century student to have the opportunity to learn computer science. The basics help nurture creativity and problem-solving skills and prepare students for any future career.
Students will work on self-guided tutorials such as Star Wars or Frozen to learn the basics of coding. Fourth and Fifth Graders can continue in their Code Studio Course 2. Once students see what they create, they’re empowered to keep learning. Participating in the Hour of Code will help ensure that our students are on the forefront of creating technology for the future.
